South Dakota State University
Each year, one-third of the newly licensed RNs in South Dakota are alumni of SDSU.
The CON has provided the only public school Master of Science in Nursing degree since 1977, and since 2005, it has provided the only state Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree (Ph.D.).
A professional doctoral level of practice is prepared for APRNs by the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, which has been available since 2009.
For students who have finished a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and aspire to earn a B.S.N., the Sioux Falls campus of their accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program is developed. They also offer this program in Aberdeen and Rapid City.
The program takes 12 months to complete and starts once a year in August.
