OHSU School of Nursing provides an accelerated bachelor’s of science with a major in nursing degree program to accommodate the rising demand for nursing education for those who have or will have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing subject (ABS).
The ABS program is made to enable students to pursue the nursing courses necessary to get the B.S. with a major in nursing even if they already have or will soon have a bachelor’s degree from an authorized institution with a major other than nursing.
In addition to preparing the graduate for R.N. license, this program will also provide interested students with the qualifications they need to pursue a graduate degree in nursing.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is granted upon successful completion of the program, and graduates are then qualified to take the professional licensing exams for registered nurses.
