University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC)
Since the University of Mississippi School of Nursing (UMSON) was established in 1948, hundreds of its alumni have provided care for Mississippians both at home and in hospitals.
Additionally, UMMC is home to the only Level 1 trauma center, Level 4 neonatal critical care unit, and organ transplant program in the state, giving its students the chance to gain the necessary experience working with the clientele they want.
The Accelerated BSN program at University of Mississippi Medical Center is designed for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree in another field and wish to change career paths in a short amount of time.
An ongoing three-semester curriculum is part of this particular program, which has a 12-month completion time.
Students at UMMC receive classroom training that effectively prepares them for successful careers as registered nurses in a range of healthcare settings in addition to hands-on, multidisciplinary clinical training.
Upon completion of the program, students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), which grants the registered nurse license.
The Accelerated BSN program at the UMMC School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
