Linfield University
Both traditional, campus-based programs and online nursing degrees are offered by the Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing, a nationally renowned innovator in regionally accredited, CCNE-approved nurse education.
In reality, the Pacific Northwest’s Good Samaritan School of Nursing is the region’s first nursing school.
As a nursing student in any of their programs, you will learn excellent nursing skills as well as how to communicate effectively, analyze critically, and solve problems thanks to their creative approach to fusing theory and practice.
For those who have finished both the prerequisite courses for nursing and their first bachelor’s degree, Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing offers an accelerated bachelor of science in nursing (ABSN) program that lasts 12 months.
The ABSN program at Linfield is quite competitive. By submitting an application for this program, you represent that you have completed (or are on track to finish) all necessary prerequisites.
Throughout the program, you must complete immersive learning activities that involve hands-on work, both in their cutting-edge simulation labs and at several clinical locations around the greater Portland area.
Additionally, they provide possibilities for rigorous, global study with classes focused on healthcare in various places across the world.

Oregon Health and Science University
OHSU School of Nursing provides an accelerated bachelor’s of science with a major in nursing degree program to accommodate the rising demand for nursing education for those who have or will have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing subject (ABS).
The ABS program is made to enable students to pursue the nursing courses necessary to get the B.S. with a major in nursing even if they already have or will soon have a bachelor’s degree from an authorized institution with a major other than nursing.
This five-quarter generalist nursing program begins in the summer term and runs through the fall term and winter term at the campuses in Portland and Ashland (Portland campus).
This program will prepare the graduate for R.N. licensure and will also give interested students the necessary credentials to pursue a graduate degree in nursing.
At the completion of the Bachelor of Science Nursing curriculum, the B.S. degree is awarded and graduates are eligible for professional registered nurse licensing examinations.
