A 24-month curriculum is required for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. The 76-hour curriculum’s main goal is to prepare skilled occupational therapists for Eastern Oklahoma’s rural areas.
Also, a student enrolling in the occupational therapy program is required to keep a 3.0 GPA or higher in all didactic and practicum courses.
Any pupil with a GPA less 3.0 is put on probation. After being placed on probation, the student must complete 9 hours of study to raise his or her GPA to 3.0.
NSU’s entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Three years (99 semester hours) of sequentially organized and integrated didactic, clinical, and capstone courses make up the Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree-professional program.
Within 18 months of finishing the program’s didactic component, students must complete 24 weeks of Level II fieldwork as well as a customized 14-week capstone assignment.
Advanced clinical practice, administration, leadership, program development, research, advocacy, and education are the main areas of focus for the additional courses and experiential component of the doctoral degree.
