University of Montana College of Health Skaggs School of Pharmacy
Since creativity is what our changing world needs, the University of Montana approaches everything with it.
The institution opened its doors in 1907 at Montana State College before relocating to its current site at the University of Montana in 1913.
Also, the school is currently located in the College of Health in the Skaggs building and provides a great environment to interact with students from other health professions programs, such as physical therapy, public health, social work, allied sciences, and occupational therapy.
The School offers high-quality education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.), Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in toxicology, medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences and drug design, as well as dual degrees: Pharm.D./Ph.D, Pharm.D./M.S., Pharm.D./MPH, and Pharm.D./MBA.
The school’s two departments, Pharmacy Practice and Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, both play crucial roles in educating student pharmacists for practice as future healthcare professionals in a range of settings over the four-year Pharm.D. program.
In the state of Montana, there is just the Skaggs Pharm.D. program.
It incorporates a demanding fundamental scientific education with broad and varied clinical and interprofessional experiences both within and outside of the classroom, while being educated and supported by highly talented and considerate instructors, staff, and administration.
All students are required to participate in continued, more challenging clinical experiences as well as early involvement in outreach to Montana citizens around the state.
Their program offers distinctive clinical experiences and exposure throughout your PharmD program in addition to a strong, high-quality education, giving graduates the knowledge and abilities to provide care, promote population health and outreach, and improve the health of underserved and rural areas.
The University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
