William Carey University School of Pharmacy
When the renowned educator W. I. Thames founded Pearl River Boarding School in Poplarville, Mississippi, in 1892, the organization that is now William Carey University had its humble beginnings.
The Pearl River Boarding School provided “elementary, preparatory, and some college studies, just like many other institutions of the time.
After years of operation under the name Mississippi Woman’s College, the college changed its name in 1954 when it became a coeducational institution to the name of the father of contemporary missions.
William Carey’s School of Pharmacy offers the only accelerated, three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program on the coast from New Orleans to Pensacola.
