University of Tennessee (UT) – College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM)
The UT College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM) was established by an act of the Tennessee Legislature in 1974 and is part of the University of Tennessee College of Agriculture in Knoxville.
Also, the AVMA Council on Education has reviewed and evaluated the accreditation standards, and the UT College of Veterinary Medicine has full accreditation status for awarding the DVM degree.
A total of 85 students, including 60 Tennessee residents and 25 out-of-staters, are accepted into the graduate program at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine each year.
The main goal of the doctor of veterinary medicine program is to give students the knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and behaviors they need to meet the many societal and professional needs.
Each class begins in August and graduates four years later in May. Graduates are qualified to pursue careers in the many facets of veterinary medicine and related health professions.
