Eastern Kentucky University (EKU)
For those with a baccalaureate degree in another field of study, EKU provides a particularly sequenced progression plan (21 month) BSN option.
You must have a graduating GPA of at least 2.5 on your prior bachelor’s degree in order to qualify.
The second degree program at EKU only accepts applicants once a year in August. Every year on March 1st, applications are due for the program that starts in August of that year.
When they finish their curriculum in the fifth semester, students will be eligible to graduate from EKU in May and apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

The Second-Degree BSN program is a hybrid, accelerated course of study that equips students with a bachelor’s degree in a subject other than nursing to work as professional nurses at the entry-level.
There are two locations for this program: Owensboro, Kentucky, and Louisville, Kentucky. Online and in-person training are combined in hybrid programs.
Online lectures for the course will be provided. You will do clinical rotations where you are hospitalized.
